December 7, 1941

It was 65 years ago today the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. They are having major ceremonies today out at the Arizona Memorial not only to commemorate the day but because this is the last official reunion of survivors. They are all getting up there in age and this is probably the last year many of them will be able to make the trip. The youngest of them is 82 this year. I'm going to refrain from going into a rant about the Iraq war and the parallels to WWII... You're welcome.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
The past 2 days I have just been bone tired. I've been too tired to eat dinner the last 2 nights. This happens every once in a while. I guess it's just the body saying it needs a break. So, needless to say, I haven't worked out in the past 2 days. I've decided to take tomorrow off also and to jump back in with both feet on Saturday.

I want to do a long run Saturday and I think I'm going to head over to the botanical gardens and run through there. I haven't done that in about 2 years and it used to be one of my favorite runs.

The scale this morning showed my lowest weight in the past month. I guess eating right does pay off. That really picked up my day.

Okay, the boss will be in early so I need to get my butt to work now.

Good luck on your long run this weekend. Hopefully it goes as well as your run the other day. I think weighing a little less always helps you go a little faster too. At least it will be WARM when you run.
As for the war parallels, its pretty obvious they don't get it.

You are smart to run different places like the botanical gardens. It helps to mix it up. I tend to get into a routine and do the same old route because I'm too lazy to go somewhere besides my neighborhood. I'll try to follow your example and find some pretty places to run.

Sorry to hear you real tired. Good idea to take some time off from exercise. That run sounds good through the gardens. Prob. one reason I get bored easily w/ jogging is that I do it on a indoor track. It's just kind cold right now and don't want to run outside now much but I do once in a while as there is a track across the street! Dirt one but it's boring.
Way to go on seeing the scale go down. Mine is fluctuated back and forth this week.
Know what you mean by the war parallels. I got a chance to visit Pearl Harbor years ago, really makes ya think and appreciate all that soldiers do.
Have a great week.

The inlaws just got back from Hawaii. They've been several times and love it. Sharon's been too and loves it. Maybe I'll make it out some day. Love your blog by the way. Congrats on the weight. I gained 10 lbs on my honeymoon even with riding 300 miles and doing a tandem race and it's still sittin on my gut. Actually I gained 20 lbs but got 10 of it off. The only way that works for me is working out like a feind and starving. Wish there was a pill. Hope you have a great run in the gardens.
PS Loved your rant about California.

Another week down

Well the first week back from spring break wasn't bad at all. I was looking forward to the weekend though, so I'm very glad it'...
