Yesterday was May 1st

and I didn't even mention it. Me!!!! The queen of fresh starts, clean slates, new beginnings!!! What happened???

Anyway, yesterday was the first of May, a new month, a new start. April turned out to be a raging success after a really rocky start. In April I worked out 21 out of 30 days. Considering I missed the entire first week, that totally rocks!!! I have lofty goals for May. April really got me motivated again. I'm not sure if it's me, or the fact that it's getting lighter earlier, or that spring is in the air, or that race season has begun, but I'm inspired.

Over the last couple of weeks I've read Comm and Benny's declaration of intent for various things, mostly Ironman related. I'm not up to Ironman level yet, but my self imposed moratorium on tris has to end. I had originally decided to take this year off tris, work on running, and focus on the marathon. Well guess what??? I'm dying to do a tri. I've decided to do the Tinman Triathlon on July 29th. That gives me 12 weeks to train and I'm definitely ready. So this is my declaration of intent. After that I may even do another! Oh my!!!

My paid blogging will now be put towards the purchase of my new bike. I will be doing a lot of blogging as I'm dying to get my bike. So that's something to watch for. With any luck at all I'll have my new bike before Tinman. Woo Hoo!!!

Okay, so my goals for May. Nah, I haven't completely formulated them in my head. I'll post them tomorrow.

My boss is building a new house on the Big Island. I had always thought I'd like to have a house built just for me, but watching her now I'm not so sure. She is agonizing over every little detail. The floors, the cabinets, the counters, the doors, the lighting, the wall switch covers, oh my god!!! I don't think I could do that, I just don't have the patience for it. She's also buying all new furniture for the new house. I've recommended she try Studio RTA furniture . After all the money she's spending on the house this might be an attractive way to save a little money :)

Awesome signing up for Tinman! I've heard it is a great race.

What kind of bike are you thinking of getting?

Sounds like everything is coming together... the mind, the body, the bike funds... I'm sure you'll have some great goals!

Your moratorium sounds exactly like mine except I haven't broken down yet :-)

You'll rock Tinman!!

Sometimes you have to take a step back

that's what I did this week. I did not look or think about my business all week. Okay, that's not entirely true, I thought about it...
