Alright kids, confession time.

As you may know I've been really working on my eating for the past few months. I've worked my diet such that I eat really clean. I eat very few processed foods. I've pretty well wiped any and all sugar out of my diet. I eat 10-12 servings of fruit and vegetables everyday. I've tried to remove wheat. You get the idea.

There are a couple of reasons or this. I want to eat healthier. Just last weekend I ate a bunch of garbage and I really felt bad. Tired, lazy, sleepy, slow and sluggish. So that's my main reason. The second reason though is that I've been thinking I may have some food allergies. Once I started eating clean I noticed problems when I ate certain things. I know I'm sensitive to soy. Every time I eat that I feel bloated and really, really gassy. I knew you wanted to know that :) I've also come to think I have problems with wheat. Whenever I eat a lot of wheat, especially processed wheat, my lower intestines do not feel good - for days.

Well, I'm taking the next, and final step. I've been doing Afterburn by Alwyn Cosgrove. Through his site I've come across this guy, Dax Moy. He has a lot of the same principles and beliefs that Alywn does so it's not that different. He has a program called the Elimination Diet (which you can get off his website, it's free). It's not really a "diet" in the traditional sense of the word. It's more like a detoxification. You remove caffeine, sugar, processed foods, wheat, dairy, and alcohol from your diet and detox your system. Get all that garbage out of it. After a period of time you will add some of these things back in to see if they bother you or not.

I start the Elimination Diet tomorrow. I've decided to just go for it. I was actually supposed to start last week but due to the holiday, a problem with some links, etc. I didn't get going on it. So tomorrow it begins.

I was just listening to some mp3 files Dax had made and a couple of things really hit home with me. I've been working very hard at getting the sugar out of my diet, yet I would still get the shakes every morning around 10ish. Dax explained that caffeine could cause a blood sugar reaction. Doh!! That never occurred to me. He also said something about dairy that I can't remember but made me realize that dairy may be a problem for me.

I've had this diet for a while now and I'll be real honest, I've been afraid to try it. Afraid I'll fail. Afraid it will be hard. Afraid it won't work. Afraid hubby will divorce me because I've become a raging bitch. But I'm finally ready to give it a real go. It's going to be hard but I can eat protein, fat, fruits and veggies till my head caves in. I think I'll be okay. So check back for the updates.

Oh, and Dax, you have a great voice, all your instructions should be in mp3 format :)

Looking forward to seeing your results!

Sometimes you have to take a step back

that's what I did this week. I did not look or think about my business all week. Okay, that's not entirely true, I thought about it...
