Oh Hai!!!

If you don't read I Can Has Cheezeburger or I Has a Hotdog you may not understand the title. And if you aren't familiar with those sites get your butts over there, they are too funny. Go ahead.....I'll wait.......

Funny, No?? I told you. Those are 2 of my favorites sites. I check them every day.

Okay, enough about them, back to me. This morning was weigh-in. Thanks to my hormones, I have felt like the Goodyear blimp all week. I was dreading this morning, though I have been eating well. I've been laid up with the butt/heel thing. So yeah, not looking forward to weigh in. As it turns out, I didn't need to worry. I maintained, and considering how huge I felt, that was a major success. So I'm happy. Next week will be better.

Then it was off to the chiro for another round of torture. Yesterday and today my heel was feeling pretty good so I thought it was getting better. That was until the chiro started poking around. OMG!!! Did it hurt. It was a whole new level of hell from Wednesday. But I grit my teeth and suffered through it because I know in the end it will help. The good part is it only hurts while he's working on it. I have no pain otherwise, so that is very good.

Then it was off to Chili's for lunch. Their buffalo wing fajitas are to die for. Only had one. When I'm bloated I do not feel like eating. I did manage to drink some beer though :)

The it was off to the Sprint store. I have a flip phone and the screen has been fading for the past few months. Then last week I got a flyer in the mail that I was eligible for their Instinct for a greatly reduced price. Instinct is their answer to iPhone. So I went to look at it and immediately fell in love. I bought it. I've had it 4 hours and it totally rocks. Hubby is eligible to get the discounts in 2 weeks. I'm sure we'll be going back for his.

And that was my day. It was busy and I'm tired. I think I'll spend the night reading. I don't feel like watching TV. It really sucks lately. Hope you all are having a good weekend.

Sometimes I think Mother Nature hates me

Last night the heel was feeling pretty good but apparently things tightened up during the night. When I stepped out of bed this morning it really hurt. Oh well. I guess there's no running today. It's okay. I'm not worried because I know that ART will fix this, it fixed my plantar perfectly. Normally taking a day or two off wouldn't bother me but with the major lack of motivation I had going there, I'm worried. But I think it will be okay.

Well, I guess I'll go get ready for work. I'm not doing anything else :)

A day about nothing....

I have nothing to say today. Nothing!!! Nothing happened. Nothing occurred to me. Nothing. Nothing. Nothing.

I woke this morning to the pouring rain - again - and a pain in my foot. At first I thought my plantar was acting up but this was different. This pain was right on the rounded part of my heel towards the inside. Very strange. But it hurt. A. Lot. I tried some stretches but nothing seemed to work. Since walking hurt it, I decided to take the day off. Luckily I already had a chiro appointment for today (my monthly adjustment).

When I got to the chiro and told him what was going on, he started poking around my heel, ankle, and calf. Turns out the tendons on the inside of my ankle and my upper calf muscle are really tight and pulling on a bursa in my heel. He did some ART on it and then used these metal tools to break up scar tissue. He hurt me. He hurt me bad. He also worked on my periformis again. That hurt a lot too. I have to go back to see him on Saturday for some more torture. I hate to admit it, but it feels pretty good now. I'll be running in the morning no matter what.

That was all. Nothing more to say. Oh right, go congratulate Michelle for losing 75 LBS!!! She totally rocks!!!!!

Running in the rain

If there was any doubt in my mind about me being back up to speed with the working out, it was removed this morning. I awoke, about 10 minutes before the alarm went off, to the sound of pouring rain. It was raining really, really hard. I knew it was almost time to get up and thought to myself, 'I don't want to run in the rain.' To which I responded, 'well, get over it cuz you have no choice.' It was at that moment that I knew I was back on track and everything was going to fine.

So I did running intervals again. I really am liking the intervals. I used to hate them but now I'm having a blast with them. I think I found something I had been doing wrong with my running. I used to get outside my gate and start running right away. Sometimes, okay most times, that was really, really hard. But I would force myself. Then, reading Michelle's blog and how she warms up walking, got me to thinking that's a good way to start. So today I got outside my gate and started walking. Pretty soon I was walking faster and within 5 minutes I was ready to run. That definitely makes a huge difference. So I walked 5 minutes, ran 5 minutes, did 6 - 1 minute intervals, ran 5 minutes, walked 5 minutes and I was done. It was awesome and I felt great. And it didn't rain on me :)

Things are definitely back to normal

Woke up this morning before the alarm and got up as soon as it went off. I have decided to add strength training back into my workouts and today seemed like as good a day as any to start. So I did. I've been off strength training for almost 3 months so I'm getting back into it slowly. I've got a 2 or 3 day a week program and I'm starting at the very basic beginner's level. So I did a 30 minute full-body routine and it felt pretty good. When I was done it wasn't even 6 am yet. I really had to do something else. So I threw on my suit and headed out to the pool.

I have not been in the pool in about 2 weeks and since I've written Tinman off I was just there to have some fun. I just did laps. I didn't count, I didn't time anything, I just swam and had a good time. The only problem was it has been so hot here lately that the pool was really warm. It did not feel good swimming in such warm water. Yuck!!! But I had fun. I swam for 1/2 an hour and called it good. I loved it.

So yes, things apparently are back to normal and back on track. I'm still more tired than I usually am but I think it's manageable. Yea for normality!!!

It involved
lots of birds and wild pigs which I did not get pictures of :)

I went hiking. I was so excited!!! I went hiking!!!

I know I'm back now. We went to a party last night and I would only have 2 drinks because I wanted to get up and hike this morning.

I ended up oversleeping a little (I'm sure it was due to the alcohol last night) and thought I might not have time to go hiking. But I rushed to get the birds fed, threw some clothes on and headed out. Luckily this trail is around the corner from my house so it's easy to get to. I hike for about 50 minutes as that's all the time I had. I was so excited that I actually got moving and got my hike in before my bird club meeting. I am definitely on the way back.

Conversation with Hubby

So yesterday morning I presented my idea of working out at home to the Hubby. Once I presented it to him, he said he was in. I told him I h...
