Well, that was interesting.....

I seriously thought I could do all 150 wall balls. Really!!! I thought I would get at least a few double unders in. It was not to be. I could give you a whole long list of reasons excuses why, but the bottom line is it didn't happen. What did happen is that there were points when I thought my heart was going to explode. Maybe I need to get a fingertip pulse oximeter to monitor my blood oxygen. Or maybe I need to work a tiny bit on my cardio. Whatever. But I learned from this and that is probably the best thing to happen. I learned that the attitude I walk in with has a huge, huge influence on the outcome of the WOD. I learned that, while heavy, a 14# medicine ball is totally doable. I learned that eating crap and thinking it will be okay is so, so, so wrong. So even though I only got 102 wall balls in 12 minutes, I feel this was a success because of all I learned from it. Now I need to put this behind me and more on with my life.

Spring break is here. It took a long time getting here this year. The only good thing about that is when we return it won't be long until school is over. I think we have 7 weeks once we return. Yippee!!!!!

The first day of break and it's raining. It's been raining all night. I wanted to bathe the dogs and take Bella out today, but it looks like that won't be happening. Oh well.

I'm getting ready to head out to Crossfit soon. 13.3 is on the agenda for today. We have 12 minutes to do 150 wall balls, 90 double unders, and 30 muscle ups. My goal is to get through all the wall balls and get a few double unders. I am not great at double unders, I can only do 5 or so at a time. And I can't do muscle ups at all so it's rather lucky I won't get there. The leading woman in the country actually finished one round and started a second. That is absolutely amazing. In my age group no one got to muscle ups. A few finished the double unders but no one got even 1 m…

The best laid plan

I did have every intention of going to Crossfit tonight, but it just didn't work out that way. On the way home I had to stop at the store and the candy was calling my name. I succumbed. When I got home I was so tired that I ended up falling asleep in my chair. That was the end of Crossfit for the night. Oh well. The good news? Tonight is the last night I will eat anything like that for 2 weeks. Spring break started today and for the entire spring break it's paleo all the way. I want to get back to feeling great like I did before. So for the next 2 weeks it's eating right, Crossfit and a little running thrown in. I want to feel lean and athletic again. And I will.

Tomorrow is 13.3. 150 wall balls, 90 double unders, and 30 muscle ups. I can't wait to see how that goes.......

Where did this week go?

I've spent the last 2 days in a teachers workshop. It was a really, really good workshop, but do you know what it's like to spend 2 days sitting around eating crappy food? No matter how hard I try to drink lots of water and eat good stuff, it doesn't work. I end up eating way more junk food than I should and generally feeling like crap.

On the topic of food, my food intake has not been great lately. Okay, it's been horrible. And not just for the last 2 days. Tomorrow is the last day of school for 2 weeks and on Saturday morning it's back to Paleo. I want to feel really good again. Also, I want to look amazing when I return to school :)

Because of above referenced workshops, I haven't gone to Crossfit in 2 days. I'm starting to feel it and I don't like it at all. Tomorrow I'm back to it.

Guess that's all I have to say. This week has been busy and just flown by and I'm glad for that.

Raring to go

Today I feel like I am finally back to 100%. I have been kind of awake since about 4 am. I finally got out of be a little bit before 6 am. I fed the birds, showered (something I never do right away), made breakfast and started laundry. Wow, all before 7 am. On a Sunday. Yup, I am back and it feels amazing.

Yesterday's 13.2 went well. I counted for another lady during the first round so I kind of got an idea of how it would go. I did mine during the second round. I got in 152 reps, which is 5 full rounds plus 2. Sweet. I really would have liked to get 6 rounds but my goal was 5 and I made it. I am happy. I spent the rest of the day yesterday writing 2 papers for class. I have to rethink my work strategy. I work best under pressure, I know that, but I also would like time to really formulate good papers. So I need to figure out how to balance those things.

Today's agenda includes some more school work, both as student and teacher. Plus a little housework, laundry and some c…
