I'm the same way. I wish I could say with all my down time I was actually accomplishing things that have been put aside for years, but alas, I still like just sitting and doing nothing for my rest. As for the butt pain, look up piriformis and see if the symptoms match what you have. I had that a LONG time ago. At that time, there was NOTHING out there about it, so I suffered for 3 years and lost a lot of fitness in the process and basically had to rebuild every bit of base I ever had.
