Pillsbury dough boy and declaration

First, for the past 2 days I've felt like the Pillsbury doughboy, you know, all soft and squishy!! I don't know what's going on. My eating has been okay but not great. I have been training because my hip is killing me and I'm still kind of tired. So I'm not sure what's up but hopefully it will pass by Sunday.

Okay, now is the time to declare my intentions for Sunday (ala Bold*), so here goes.

The swim is,
"...like nothing you have ever done, so it should be a lot of fun and a challenge. The race will begin with an 80 meter run to Lagoon 1. You will be swimming each of the four lagoons beginning at Lagoon 1 and run from the end of one lagoon to the beginning of the next and continue in the sequence until you are finished swimming each lagoon. (Note: have you people ever heard of run-on sentences????) Each lagoon is no longer than 200 m and no shorter than 130 m.."

Since this is really my last race of the season I've decided to go all out. Run like the hounds of hell are chasing me between lagoons and jump as far as possible into each lagoon. I'm going to try for 30 minutes. That's probably pushing it but what the hell.

The bike is 30k on a flat, technical course. I'm going to shoot for 1 hour. That's just about 18 miles and that was my average speed in Tinman over a longer, hillier course. So I'm at 1:30 so far.

The run is 7.4k or 4.5 miles. Now, here's where the problem occurs. My hip has really been acting up this week even though I haven't been training much. I'm going to say..... 50 minutes.

That's a total time of 2:20 so factor in 10 minutes for transitions and I'm looking at about 2:30.

That time will, of course, bring me in at the bottom of my age group. I guess I can hope all those women are busy this year :)

Oh well, I'm not going to stress over it. I'm going to go out and do my best, but above all have a good time. Because that is why I do this, for fun.

*My f(*&*&*^*^(*^^%%$* hyperlink won't work.

Hey, you can do it. And don't worry where you finish. Fun, right? That's what I say too, and I consistently place at the end of the age group and have actually been last over all--more than once! I say fun, but those other women say kill. I don't understand it! Anyway, have fun and hopefully your hip gets you through it.
