Oh. My. God. For weeks now I thought my butt pain was due to my IT band, even though it felt very different from IT problems I've had in the past.
On my last post Vickie said to check out piriformis and Oh. My. God. The symptoms they describe are exactly what I'm feeling. Deep butt pain. Gets worse when sitting. Oh. My. God.
I was told years ago that I was one of the 15% of the population that has the sciatic nerve running through the muscle instead of under it. That explains why my lower back and IT hurt.
Well, now I'm pretty sure what it is hopefully the doc will be able to prescribe PT since it seems rest and stretching is the treatment.
Wow. Thanks Vickie!!!!

I hope you get the treatment you need. Don't let them tell you its probably something else. This is something that does not clear up by itself. Oh, maybe if you quit running and other things forever but that's not what you want. Good luck.
