I go completely animal-less today and I'm very excited. I've been doing breakfast and lunch vegan since the beginning of the week and it's truly amazing how good I feel. What really brought it home was yesterday. It was the last day of summer school so we had a little party and the kids naturally brought junk food. Well, I decided to partake since I knew today I was starting my vegan adventure. Wow!! Did I feel like crap. I ate 1/2 a lemon filled donut, 2 small brownie bites (not weed), 2 snack size bag of chips, some fried rice and a meat heavy omelet. I ate all of this between 9-11 am. and by 1:30 I was crashing big time. I could hardly keep my eyes open waiting for the bus. I had zero energy to peddle myself home and after being home about 30 minutes, I passed out on the couch for about 2 hours. Yikes!! That has to be the most glaring example of how this stuff effects your body. So today I started very sanely. I had coffee - black and 10-grain cereal with almond milk and some peanut butter. Very hearty and filling. Initially I'm going to measure and track everything because I want to make sure I'm getting enough food and nutrients - probably an insane worry but a worry nonetheless.

I got my food processor yesterday and I can't wait to use it. I'm thinking about going to Whole Foods today for a shopping adventure. I can't decide if I want to go today or wait until tomorrow. I'm beginning the decompression from school. I have the next 33 days off and I'm very excited about that.
