Unbelieveable.....

I filed for unemployment. I am still waiting for a decision. Freaking unreal. I'm pretty sure I know what is going on. They did not have good reason to fire me, so they are stalling. Waiting the maximum time to return phone calls, saying they need to talk to so and so before they give an answer. Bullshit. The good news is, I've moved on. I no longer have the hate for them I did. I have let it go. Now I just feel sorry. Sorry for someone being so small minded and petty. Sorry that they hold on to power and think they really are all that when they don't have a clue. Incredibly sorry for the students. Most of them will be okay, but some of them are really getting screwed. They are going to go out into the real world and get kicked in the teeth and not have a clue as to what happened. Babying students and bending over backwards for them is one of the greatest disservices you can do to them. Part of teaching is to expose them to the real world in a safe environment where they are supported and can work through it. All they do there is coddle them. Students are not held accountable for anything - not even the dress code - and yet they are a 'college prep.' Ha!!! The only thing they are prepping the kids for is failure. But anyway, between the lying that goes on up there and the incompetence of the Hawaii government workers, I will probably see my unemployment after school starts. Whatever....The new place is already so much better I can not believe it. I have been contacted about all manner of things. They are asking my input on a number of different things and I haven't even officially started there yet. They clearly value their teachers and respect their input. Can not wait. Oh well, who cares. I do hope that all the information forwarded to Syracuse does some good. Yes, you heard that - forwarded to Syracuse. People are finally tired of seeing the direction that school is taking and have banded together to do something about it. We are all praying that our actions are effective.

Okay, I have things to do today. It's a rest day from Crossfit and I have 3 papers due this weekend. That is what's on the agenda today.

Sometimes you have to take a step back

that's what I did this week. I did not look or think about my business all week. Okay, that's not entirely true, I thought about it...
