No screen time

Lately I've been working on reducing my screen time and it's been going fairly well. The main problem is that I'm switching one screen for another. For example, I don't just mindlessly scroll Facebook anymore, at least not much, but I will play Animal Crossing when I really don't feel like it. So I'm going to work a bit harder on reducing my screen time even more. I don't really have a lot of time during the week (Mon - Thurs) to waste on mindless screen time, so I'm going to work on reducing that. Today I am going for no Facebook at all and no Animal Crossing. Whew, that's going to be hard, but I have a plan.

I get home from school around 5pm. Then I take Mavy for a walk. After that is when I usually come in here and veg out in front of a screen doing something completely nonsensical. Tonight I'm going to do something different. I'm going to fold the clothes, that have been sitting there for 2 weeks, and listen to podcasts. I'm going to check CTY and see if there is anything to grade. I'm going to sort through the mail I've accumulated and then empty my trash can. I'm going to clean this desk and start working on organizing this room. Finally, I'm going to do my hip challenge and then some unentertained time. I have so many things to do that will ultimately improve my life that have nothing to do with a screen. Also, I will start heading to bed around 7:30pm - that's usually when I give the dogs their pills - and almost every night I will come in here and then scroll Facebook for 30 - 45 minutes and end up getting to bed late. No more. I'm done with that. I don't mind taking 30 - 40 minutes to get to bed, between pills and biscuits, hip challenge, unentertained time, etc., it can easily take that long. But I'm done with wasting my time. Done. Putting my foot down.

Okay, that is my great declaration today. Time to get moving.

Sometimes you have to take a step back

that's what I did this week. I did not look or think about my business all week. Okay, that's not entirely true, I thought about it...
