Step Away From the Cake

 That's his new name. Akua which means spirit in Hawaiian. I think it's appropriate because I know that he came from the spirits of those gone before. I know that Bella had a hand in this. I know that she know I don't want a puppy just yet and so she put an adult in need in my path. I also know that Mavy had a paw in this because this guy's name was Ace. That was part of Mavy's name, Top Gun Ace Maverick. I always said that if I had known that sooner I would have changed his name to Ace. So I know those two were up there plotting away.  Anyway, we picked Akua up on Friday morning. We got home and he immediately tried marking in the house. Had to yell at him a few times. Then went and got belly bands which are basically diapers for male dogs. Every time we went outside we took them off and when he came in we put it back on. For 2 days.  Every year, okay most years, I work over the summer to set things up for the next school year. I love to have things planned out because that takes a lot of stress off me once the year starts. So my goal this summer is to get 3 classes planned out. Yes, an ambitious goal, but one I need to make for my sanity during the year. The problem, and I encounter this every year, is how to organize things so that I know what I'm doing and when I'm doing it. My entire curriculum is digital, so everything is stored in my Google Drive. But, I'm an analog person living in a digital world. That means I prefer to have paper copies of things so that I can see what I'm doing and not have to click around to different docs. Having said that, I also like to have everything in a doc and linked so that I can find them easily. Okay, lots of stuff going on there, but I need to find a way to make it just flow.  So, some ideas. I have used  a weekly calendar in the past and put the agenda on the...
