So this happened yesterday

Image
And I love it, I really do. It took a long, long time and it cost a lot of money (more than I realized it would) but it is amazing. That took 3.5 hours - yikes, that's a long time to sit in a salon. And a cold salon at that. but it was worth it.  After that we cleaned out the spare room for Chris today and then I took it easy the rest of the day. It was a good day. Yes, Chris arrives today and I won't see Hubby for most of the week and that's kind of okay. After a year of school, I do enjoy some serious alone time to decompress and I will get that this week. I will have time to work on my art and get things ready for the show I have on June 6th. Which I need to start promoting in my social media.  I bought some basic information on how to make really nice Google sheets and I was working on that yesterday. It's really kind of cool. I thought I was pretty good with Google stuff but this is next level. I'm trying to think of how I can use it for school. The obvious a...

1st day of summer

Do you know how nice it is to wake up and know there is nothing on your agenda? For days? It's like a large weight has been lifted off of me and I can finally breathe easy. I love it. And knowing that this is not for the next 3 days but for the next 2 months. YES!!!!  I do have some things to do over the summer but I have the time to do them at my pace. I also need to get some things in order, but again I have time.  Not sure I'm doing much of anything today. I have a hair appointment at 9am. After that I have to clean out the room for Hubby's son to stay in, he arrives tomorrow. Other than that there is not much on the agenda and I love it. I'm afraid that I may have to do something about this wrist over the summer and I'm not liking the idea of that. We shall see. It is incredibly painful in the morning, like right now. It hurts a lot.  One thing I do want to do today is to set up my planner. I know that in the summer things can fall through the cracks really eas...

And it's over

Today was the awards ceremony and teacher luncheon and checkout. We are done for another year.  Graduation last night was really good. We kept everything in the main building and had all the graduates there until it was time to proceed in. It worked out really well. We also had 2 teachers on dress code duty and that was amazing. They caught everything. We did have a little thing with one of the graduates. He didn't make it to rehearsal in the morning and we say if you don't come to rehearsal you don't walk. First time it's ever happened. We had to make the call and not let him walk. It was hard, everyone was upset, his parents were losing it, but we got through it. It also taught us a few things that we need to do better, so that's good.  The awards ceremony today was long and drawn out and I could not wait for it to end. But it's over and that's good.  Yesterday I only ate my protein shake, a piece of danish, some mochi, a burger from Wendy's and some ...

The end is here

I was just thinking about how I consider today the end. We have to go in tomorrow for the awards ceremony, but I don't really have to do anything for that so I'm good with it. Today is my end. Graduation day. I'm so excited. It's finally here. It's something we work towards all year and maybe we drag it out too long, but it's finally here and they are ready. Today will be a long day but it will be worth it when it's over.  Yesterday was good. Finals all day so I had time to work on things, don't remember what, but I had time for it. I cannot wait for this to all be over.  I have nothing to say. I'm ready to get going but needed coffee first. Yeah, I seriously got nothing.  All I can think of is all the things I have to do today.  Not sure I ever talked about my wrist, but it's still acting up. I really thought it was arthritis, but now I think it might be carpal tunnel. The pain is real. It goes away during the day, but in the morning - OMG!!! M...

And now it's the last Tuesday

Yesterday was good. I had a 1st and a 2nd period and that was it. I worked in the afternoon cleaning my room, doing dishes, and straightening things that I can't do when students are in the room testing. Then I left at 2:30pm. It was really nice. I have another class in my room during 1st period today, so I'm trying to decide what to do. I could start working on my storeroom. Or I could work on the paperwork for check out. I think I'll work on the check out paper work. I want to get that done. I have some things to do for that like fill out forms, answer some questions, analyze some data, things like that. I can get that all done this morning. So I think that's what I will work on. While the kids are taking their finals, I'll make some folders or work on next year. Yesterday I cleaned out all the drawers in my front table. Got rid of some stuff that had accumulated for 10 years. It felt nice. Maybe today I'll work on graduation stuff, not that there's a lot...

The last Monday

and I literally could not be happier. Today I have finals 1st and 2nd period and then the rest of the day free. I plan on cleaning my lab for the afternoon. Fun stuff.  I got the keychains finished yesterday. I'm not super happy with them but I am not going to redo them that's for sure.  I had the weirdest dream. We were in school, well kind of. Emily was trying on a graduation gown. I was talking with someone from like an insurance company. We were looking at the answers to a Jeopardy game that was going to be played later, when suddenly light was so bright I couldn't see. Turns out my alarm was going off which includes a light. So I got up against my will, but it's the last Monday.  I can't think of anything more to write. Oh, I did go shopping yesterday and got a cute outfit for graduation. Pants that are baby blue and a top to go with them that is flowery and has rhinestones along the button down part. Then I got some white leather sneakers with blue accents on...

The wrist

My wrist has been painful for weeks. It's not numbness or tingling, it's pain in the joint. It definitely gets worst at night but it is there during the day also. I think it's arthritis. I've had carpal tunnel and it never felt like this. I did put my hand against a tree to try and stop Akua from dragging me down a hill a few weeks back and I'm wondering if that is what did it. I have no intention of slowing down or not doing things, I'm just going to have to learn to live with the pain. Maybe I'll try some Aleve for it. It is painful.  After yesterday's post, I sat down and had a heart to heart with Hubby. As always, he is incredibly supportive and has some great ideas. So I felt a lot better about it all. Things haven't changed, but at least I feel better about it all.  We started Akua's training a few weeks back and I have to say, it's working. He is getting it. I need to work with him more, but he is definitely picking it up.  I finished...
